FIRE RELIEF AND PUMPING CHARGES

 

1.(a)

Attending with tug a vessel on fire for the first two hours (minimum charges).

For each subsequent hour or part thereof

Note: The above charges will be increased by 25% between the hours of 7.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m.

Services of Port Trust fire engine per day of 12 hours or any part thereof.

 3.(a)

 

Hire of Port Trust fire floats for the first 6 hours or any part thereof.

Rs. 707.00

    (b)

For the second or any subsequent 6 hours or any part thereof.

4.(a)

 

Hire of Port Trust fire floats for pumping otherwise that in case of fire, for the first hour or part thereof.

Rs. 141.00

   (b)

For every subsequent hour or part thereof.

 5.(a)

 

For the Services of the Port Trust Fire Bridge outside the Port Trust limits per turn-out for the first period of 5 hours or part thereof (minimum charge).

     6.

 

Hire of Port Trust trailer pump per every 8 hours or part thereof whether the pump is actually used or not.

Notes

(1) The charges for any exceptional services not included in the above scale will be at such rates or of such amounts as may be fixed by the Board in each particular case.

(2) No charge will be prefered or levied when pumps or other fires service equipment and personnel are used to protect the loading or unloading operations involving dangerous cargo.

(3) No charge will be levied in case of actual fire fighting operations only in the Port Area, but all further operations connected with the segregation and salvaging of undamaged goods for which the Traffic Department, is frequently called upon to supply labour will be charged for.

(4) Charges will be recovered for special services rendered by the Port Fire Service in the following cases:-
(a) When the trailer pump, other port fire service equipment and personnel are requisitioned for guarding or protecting a ship not under its own steam, or pump out water after the actual fire fighting operations are over.
(b) When testing ships plates etc.
(c) In all cases except where actual fire fighting operations a
