TABLE XIV

       SCALE OF CHARGES FOR THE USE OF THE
    "GILES GRAVING DOCK"

 

1. All vessels will be charged on gross tonnage for the first 24 hours or part thereof as follows:-

(a) For vessels not exceeding 1000 tonnes Rs. 9430.00
(b) For vessels above 1000 tonnes but not exceeding 2000 tonnes Rs. 707.00 additional for every 50 tonnes or part thereof in excess of 1000 tonnes
Note : The first 24 hours count from the time the dock gate is shut in position after the vessel has entered.
2. All vessels will be charged for every succeeding 6 hours or part thereof Rs. 1179.00

3. If two or more vessels are put into dock at the same time three fourth of the above rates only for each will be charged.

4. For docking and undocking outside normal working hours and on Fridays or Holidays enumerated in Bye-Laws No. 16 an additional charge of Rs. 1650.00 plus actual extra expense together with supervision charges will be charged.

One charge will be levied irrespective of the number of vessels docked or undocked on Friday, etc., and it will be recovered proportionately in the case of vessels or boats belonging to different parties provided always that if a Port Trust vessel and an outside vessel be docked or undocked at the same time, the whole fee will be payable by the outside vessel.

5. For scrapping, painting and repairs actually done on vessels, the cost price plus 180 percent, on actual cost of labour, will be charged.

6. For special block laying for vessels, the actual cost together with supervision charges will be charged.

7. For engaging the dock and not using it Rs. 2358.00 will be charged.

8. Provided always that Fridays and the days on which the workshop at Manora remains entirely closed, shall not be counted in the period of occupation unless spent wholly or in part in docking, undocking, scraping painting or repairing the vessel or vessls.

9. In case work has to be done on the vessel, after 6.00 p.m. or before 6.00 a.m. or on Fridays and Holidays enumerated in Bye-Laws No. 16 intimation must be previously given to the Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineer or his Deputy.

10. The foregoing scale of charges etc., is not applicable to KPT vessels, barges etc., which are to be charged actual expenses on account of labour and material involved in docking and undocking and for all work done upon the vessels.
